Pack a punch with the usual stuff – white shirts and denim. And how to pack that punch? Here’s how.
I’ve just realised something. After a few years of moderation, I’ve got back into my old habit of buying tons of blue jeans and white shirts. Well, you can never have enough of those, can you? Good thing is, I can use, abuse and combine them in a zillion ways and never get bored.
The look
Today’s outfit is based on a pair of soft and light distressed jeans and a raglan organza sleeve shirt. What I like most about this look is I can’t quite decide if it’s dressy or messy. I mean, look at the cut of the blouse. It’s like a 1990s knitted, collared sweater, weird fit included. The Valentino-style studded heels are still something of a staple, as are the ripped jeans.
The statement pieces
So, my base is the both usual and unusual combo of the slouchy-cut blouse and the cropped boyfriend (girlfriend?) jean. What packs aforementioned punch – aka makes the look fashion-pro-epic are two things, essentially. First, the casual statement piece, the monochrome stripe ponte blazer. Second, the glam-factor aqua blue mirrored aviators I just picked up in my local drugstore. Thanks to the colours and contrasts, the result is pretty bold and striking but still easy, sleek and smart.
In summary, blue jeans and white shirts are, like style itself, timeless. I just add some fashion south of the knees, throw on some eye candy and I’m good to go. Again and again, forever and ever.
What are some of your own fave blue jean – white shirt outfits? I would love to see 🙂
Cheers, Gaby
